How to dictate, the three Mac permissions, billing on the web, and what to do when Check for Updates does nothing. Email is still here if you need a person.
Mac
Click into any text field. Hold your hotkey — Right Option, Right Command, or Fn, whichever you picked in Settings — speak, then release. Cleaned text pastes at the cursor in Slack, Mail, your editor, the terminal.
A second lock hotkey (if you set one) taps to keep recording hands-free.
Mac
Dictation needs Microphone, Accessibility, and Input Monitoring. Skip any one and the hotkey looks broken.
After an update, macOS can show those toggles ON while they no longer apply. Open Settings → Permissions in Grumbus, or System Settings. Toggle each permission OFF, then ON, then restart the app. That OFF→ON dance is the fix — not reinstalling.
iPhone
Grumbus for iPhone is not on the App Store yet — treat it as coming soon.
If you already have the app, the product is the keyboard, not the pad. Add GrumbusVoice under Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards, then turn on Allow Full Access. Tap the mic to dictate (do not hold). The Home pad is hold-to-talk — a different gesture.
Apple requires a hop through the Grumbus app so the keyboard can paste: open Grumbus, then swipe back to the app you were typing in.
Mac
Builds 0.4.16 and 0.4.20 cannot auto-update — they still hold an old Sparkle key. Download the latest DMG once from grumbus.app/download. After that, later releases arrive through Check for Updates.
0.4.21 and newer can Sparkle as usual.
Account
Plans, invoices, and cancel live on the web at grumbus.app/account — not in Mac Settings. Sign in, then Manage billing or Cancel subscription. You keep access through the period you already paid for.
